The Les Corts Mental Hygiene Centre Association

The Les Corts Mental Hygiene Centre Association (ACHMLC) was set up in Barcelona in 1978 as a voluntary, non-profit association. Today, although based in Barcelona, the ACHMLC covers the entire country.

The Association functions are directed primarily at the provision of support, care, teaching and research in the field of mental health, and its mission is to:

• Organise activities and programmes directed at mental health promotion, illness prevention and health education.
• Offer coordination and support activities in primary health care, social services, community resources and teaching services.
• Deliver psychiatric health care through activities directed at recognition, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and social insertion.
• Carry out training, teaching and mental health research activities.
• Set up interdisciplinary teams for the implementation of the activities described in the previous sections.
