Les Corts and Sarrià-Sant Gervasi Child and Adolescent Mental Health Centre (CSMIJ)

What is the CSMIJ?
The Centre de Salut Mental Infantil i Juvenil (CSMIJ) [Child and Adolescent Mental Health] is a specialised health service run by the Catalan Health Service Public Mental Health Network. .

What are its functions?
The CSMIJ provides a specialised outpatient service in mental health and psychiatric care.

What services does it offer?
·   The CSMIJ offers a wide range of diagnostic, therapeutic and guidance services in mental health.
·   It deals with the biopsychosocial aspects and needs in the mental health of children, adolescents and their families.
·   It is involved in mental health promotion and illness prevention.

Who does it coordinate with?
·   The CSMIJ coordinates its activities with the Primary Health Care Centres, the Social Services and other community teams of the districts of Les Corts and Sarrià-Sant Gervasi.
·   The CSMIJ coordinates with the Les Corts and Sarrià-Sant Gervasi Adult Mental Health Centres (CSMA), the Health Care and Monitoring Centres (CAS) and the Les Corts and Sarrià-Sant Gervasi Community Rehabilitation Services (SRC).
·   The CSMIJ is part of a psychiatric health-care circuit coordinating with mental health emergency and hospitalisation services.

Who does the CSMIJ provide care to?
The CSMIJ provides care to under-18s living in the municipal districts of Les Corts and Sarrià-Sant Gervasi in Barcelona.

How to request a consultation?
·   Through referral by the paediatrician or the GP from one of the Primary Health Care Centres in our sectors, by means of the interconsultation request form.
·   PThrough referral by other specialised services in the health-care circuit.

In all these cases, the user or the family may arrange the first appointment by telephone or in person at the Centre.

What documentation needs to be submitted?
· Health Care Card . 
· ID card.
· Interconsultation request form.

Who makes up the health-care team?
It is a multidisciplinary team comprised of doctors/psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, trained nurses, social workers and clerical staff who guarantee a professional, confidential and personalised service.

When is it open?
The centre is open for consultations Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5.30 pm.
